Folding Octagonal Poker Table How to build your very own folding, octagonal poker table! Sanding and Staining your table. Once you have cut out the holes for the cut holders you are now ready to sand and stain the racetrack. The sandpaper I used was very fine and although not much of the racetrack is going to be seen, I sanded and stained the entire piece. See the difference between the unstained and stained area. This is the type of wood stain and varnish I used. You may like darker or lighter stains or you may even choose to paint your racetrack, the choice is yours! As you can see from the above picture, this is what the racetrack looks like after one coat of stain varnish. I am going to apply at least 3 coats to get a great looking durable finish. |
