Folding Octagonal Poker Table How to build your very own folding, octagonal poker table! Attaching the Flip Flop Hinges Now that the table legs are on, it's time to add the Flip Flop hinges which are mounted on the spacing blocks to allow the table to fold in half with the table legs, cup holders etc underneath. I'll be honest and say that this is a fairly important step. I tried to mount one block at a time and got into trouble (another mistake!). I found the easiest way of doing this was to mount the flip flop hinges directly onto the spacing blocks first, and then attach the blocks to the underside of the table. Just to recap, I mounted the hinges onto the blocks with screws, then I drilled the holes through the blocks to allow the blocks to be bolted to the table. The blocks underneath the table don't look very pretty but as you will see when the table is folded together, the space they create allows for the table to fold in half allowing space for the table legs and cups holders etc. The above picture shows the flip flop hinges mounted on the base of the table. This is how the table currently looks folded in half. As you can see, plenty of space for the table legs and cup holders. This is the table standing on its own legs for the first time. As you can see near the centre of the table I drilled some extra holes no matter, they will be covered up by the racetrack! On this shot I've place the other parts of the table on top to get an idea of how we are doing. |
