3.00 | Grant | Game 2 of the APPA 2013 Season
2nd game of the year for the boys and with a full table of eight at Craigs it was a bizarre night. We had everything from 4 card straights to a straight flush and the winning hand at the end of the night was a high card - go figure.
The boys all played a pretty conservative style of play with the first of the 5,000 chip being bet when a straight flush was nailed. At 11:30pm, all eight players were all relatively equal in stack size with the blinds starting to rise.
First to fall (and a long way down for our big fella) was Kobus. A quiet night for Kobus and an unfortunate last place finish.
Next to go was last months runner up (and close becoming a full member), Greg. The boys had to show the newbie that he still has a little to learn about the game but never the less an admirable performance.
Sixth for the night was last months winner Kev. The cheeky bastard had a quiet night by his standards but had the pleasure of being taken down by Craigs brother Grant. A frustrating night for our APPA secretary and not the back to back victory he was hoping for.
In fifth position was Midge all in on pocket 10s to be called by A3 suited. Doomed right from the beginning when the flop was 2, 4,& 5. Midge did hit his trip on the turn but couldnt convert and was tossed out.
Fourth for the night was Craig. All in with pocket kings only for Craig2 to hit the straight cards can really be cruel at times!
Third for the night and what a roller coaster ride. Almost down and out but finished 3rd was Craig2.
Left to battle it out for the night was Grant and Pete. It had been a quiet night for Pete but after the humiliation of finishing last in January revenge was sweet. Pete doubled up on a couple of hands with pairing a 2 on the board. The last hand was won with Pete on a high card goes to show it doesnt matter how you win them.
