First game for the APPA for 2016.
It is sad that this year one of our founding members Kobus has decided to withdraw from regular attendance. Kobus has moved further up north and the logistics of making the games have become too difficult. We wish Kobus well and he will be missed from the group.
First game of the 2016 year and all eyes were on Kev to see if his majestic form from 2015 would continue. For the first 2 hours of the game it appeared it would with Kev gaining chips left right and centre - however after pushing pretty hard on a couple of hands, Kev was knocked out in last position by Craig.
Next out was our last game winner and Bounty for the night Pete. A bit of a slow bleed for Pete but at least he got to practise some dealing for a change!
Next to go was Daniel and Craig - both taken down by Grant. Up and down night for Craig after gaining all Kev's chips but the cards turned when it counted most.
Final 3 for the night were Dave, Midge and Grant. Midge managed to knock Dave out before going head to head with Grant "the caller" Stokes. After a bit of chips changing hands - Midge finally went all into to be done over by Grant rivering a straight.
Grant a very worthy winner for the night after struggling in the earlier parts of the game.
A good opening to game 1 of 2016 but missing regular member Pierre.
Next up the Million Dollar game at Craig's!
