What I love about poker is that every night is completely different and tonight was no exception!

The room was well lit up by Kevs Private Poker Room neon sign and with Craig back from San Francisco the solid 6 were back once more. Joining us for the night was Pierre from the NPL and after some blood from the 1st of Kevs 2 table garage games were he thought he was unjustly taken out of the game by Midge.

The night started well enough for some but it wasnt long before Dave, Pete and Midge found themselves short stacked against Pierre who couldnt seem to lose if he tried.

Dave was first to go out achieving his worst ever APPA finish in last place. The cards havent been kind to Dave this last little while but on the plus side hes had plenty of practice dealing.

Next to go was Midge with some sweet revenge for Pierre. Midge ended up all in after the flop with a pair of Jacks. Pierre called with A3 to be behind after the flop. On the turn down came a 3 to assist Pierre only for the river to hit another 3 and knock Midge out of the game.

In 5th place Kobus fell to Pete. Kobus is starting to last longer and longer in the game which is a good sign.

In 4th place and not a bad first game back was Craig. Like most people not a lot going right from Craig on the night but hanging on for a good 4th place finish.

3rd out for the night was our host Kev. It had also been a quiet night for Kev when he finally pushed all in with K8 and was called by the bank of South Africa (Pierre). Kev hit an 8 on the flop as Pierre hit a 2. The river proved to be cruel with yet again Pierre hitting another 2 to take the hand. Kevs fist pump was in vaine when the fog of the river cleared to show Pierre had rivered a set of 2s!

Down to the final 2 with Pierre holding 70% of the chips in play and only a matter of time we thought before Pete would also join the fallen. Pete on the other hand had other ideas and where the cards had hit Pierre previously, Pete started to hit some good cards.

Were not sure if Pierre became a little complacent or Pete just bamboozled him but within around 4 hands, Pete had all the chips and relegated the Bank of South Africa to his own wee global financial crisis.

Well done Pete for winning and taking out Pierre who just couldnt seem to miss a trick.
