1.00 | Kev | APPA or as we are now known the APL decided to change things up and play our first ever 2 table game. Our host for the night had 2 brand new tables to christen and christen we did! The contact lists came out and an awesome 14 players fronted for this special event.
Tables were drawn and seats found and the night kicked off with a much lower number of chips than usual (21,250). There was a good mix of players from friends to poker playing associates and the night promised to be a good test to the regular APL players.
With the music pumping and barman Grayson on hand we kicked off with the blind structure remaining the same.
It took quite some time for the first player to go out (around 10pm) and that started the flood gates as the blinds rose the lower chip amounts soon told. There were some good hands fought with large amounts of chips being won and lost.
Making it to the final table from the APPA were only Midge and Kev. Both were in less than dominate position and it wasnt long before Midge found himself all in with AQ off against Francois pocket queens! Lucky for Midge, he hit the A on the flop and held on to double up.
Not too much later Kev pushed all in with QJ off leaving Midge to ponder calling with AQ off. The call was made and Midge kept ahead after the river to knock out 007.
With the last remaining APPA players all gone, it was left to Midge to fight the good fight in the name of the APPA. After avoiding the major battles midge ended up in the final 2 with once very short stack Steve who had a major come back. After a few hands here and there, Steve pushed with A7 off and Midge called with K8 suited. The flop was interesting with both an A and an 8 hitting. The river was blessed for Midge with another 8 steeling the money and the win for the night.
An awesome new experience for the APPA players and hats off to Kev for putting on a superb night and getting 14 guys in the one place at the one time! A huge effort and the stories of which will be told for quite some time at least by Midge anyway!
